Snook
Snook are found in the waters of Florida and in some sections of the Gulf Coast. It is a very popular inshore fish. Fishing for is similar to freshwater largemouth bass fishing. hang out in shallow water, they will strike a variety of lures and they will come up and attack a lure on the surface.
Catching Snook
Most fishermen prefer using lures for and they cover a lot of water. You can catch from boats, jetties, piers, bridges and the beach. Topwater baits are a favorite of most fishermen. An erratic retrieve usually works best because this mimics a wounded bait fish. will strike the lure and follow up with at least a couple of jumps out of the water. Fly fishermen also enjoy fishing for snook. Most streamer flies, sliders and poppers will work. When fishing with lures for snook, most anglers prefer to sight fish for them. Once you see a fish, you must present the lure in front of the face without spooking them. A cast right on top of them can spook them, but at times it will cause a violent strike. To ensure more strikes, make sure to cast just in front of them and work the bait back to the fish.
Natural baits will also work for snook. Pinfish, shrimp, mullet and squirrel fish are the most popular baits. 10 to 15 pound test is usually good enough for catching snook. Many fishermen tie on a 3 to 4 foot leader of fluorocarbon line. are exciting to catch and they taste great.
